The Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP) is the principal source of dependable and timely marine fishery statistics for Atlantic coast fisheries

eTrips/Mobile

eTrips/M is the mobile, tablet-based version of ACCSP's eTrips application that allows captains to capture their catch and effort data while at sea, independent of a full-time internet connection. This application is available on tablets only on both Apple and Android platforms. There is no need for an internet connection at sea.

How do I use eTrips/Mobile?

1. Obtain a SAFIS User Name and Password.

a. If you have an existing SAFIS account and know your username and password, you can login to the application using this information. Make sure your appropriate permit, license, and/or operator number(s) are accessible.

 b. If you do not have a SAFIS account, have forgotten your SAFIS username and/or password, or are unsure, contact the helpdesk at 1-800-984-0810. You will need to have the following information handy:

  • Name
  • Birthdate
  • Permit, license, and/or operator number

—this step will help us figure out whether you already have an account and, if not, whether it needs to be set up.

2. Download the application to your iPad here or to your Android tablet here.

Note: There are two versions of eTrips/M: a Test (Evaluation) and a Production version. Be sure to download the production version or your VTRs will not be submitted!

3. Watch the user tutorials listed below to learn how to use the application.

4. Login to the app with your SAFIS username and password and set up your “favorites” for each permit you report against.

You can set favorite Ports, Vessels, Permit Numbers, Species, etc. Favorites speed up your data entry and can always be changed.

5. You are now ready to report your trips using eTrips/Mobile.

If you have any questions or technical issues, contact the eTrips/Mobile helpdesk at 1-800-984-0810 or email mobile_support@accsp.org. Additional information can be found on the eTrips/Mobile FAQ page: http://www.accsp.org/etrips_mobile_faq.

Regional Electronic Reporting Training Sessions for the For-Hire Industry

Both the South and Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Councils are preparing for electronic reporting in the for-hire industry. To prepare charter operators for the switch to electronic reporting, the councils are hosting training sessions during which participants can learn how to use the eTrips/m application. Find more information on each regional council's training sessions using the links below. Please note that both webpages are continually updated to reflect the growing list of training sessions scheduled.
